Amazing

I'm still in the process of reorganizing.
Progress is slow but steady...

In the meantime, I'd like to share an AMAZING New York Times article that I came across recently.

It is about an AMAZING woman...

And the AMAZING transformation of this run-down hunting shack...

Into this AMAZING little jewel of a cottage.

The interior is just as AMAZING as the exterior.

The story is even more AMAZING because the woman, Sandra Foster, did all of this work herself!

In an AMAZING search of salvage shops throughout upstate New York, Ms. Foster located the materials for her cottage.

She did all of this on the AMAZING budget of only $3,000.

It is an AMAZING dream come true for Ms. Foster, who for a time during her teens, was homeless!

Pretty AMAZING story, don't you agree?

You can learn more about Ms. Foster in her AMAZING blog.

This AMAZING photography was done by Trevor Tondro for The New York Times

I hope you've enjoyed this little diversion and will check out the links provided. I found both the cottage and the story behind it to be truly amazing!

Until next time,

  1. This little cottage is truly amazing but what's even more amazing is that I had come across Sandra's blog, and I visited and found it amazing, then lost the link somehow and couldn't remember the name. Your post is amazing because now I can revisit Sandra's blog once again. It`s so wonderful what is available to us through the click of a mouse. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Wow! This little cottage is just adorable, and looks straight out of a fairy tale! I would love to have a little "play house" just like this!

  5. Hi Sheilla, This truly is AMAZING. In the next 2-3 years, I am hoping you will help me rennovate a three-room cottage on a 16-acre property purchased in 1973 in Abingdon, Virginia, by my parents. My dream is for it to be as AMAZING as Ms. Foster's cottage. It will be a lady's Shabby Chic getaway and will be available for weekend rentals. Ladies, wouldn't you enjoy a weekend getaway to historic Abingdon, Virigna. You can take in a play at the World Famous Barter Theatre and have a beautiful Shabby Chic retreat for just lounging and relaxing. Love and Blessings to you and yours!

  6. Debbie, that will be such a fun project...and a great place to get a way from it all. I could really handle that on a day like today!
